Terms of use
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Javan Goddard, a sole proprietor in Chase, British Columbia, operating as Clarisa ("Clarisa", "we", "us"). By making an account or using Clarisa, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Clarisa.
2. The beta
Clarisa is in a private beta. Features may change, move or stop, and some things may not work as they should. While you're in the beta, the beta terms you accepted also apply, including keeping Clarisa confidential.
3. Who can use Clarisa
- You must be at least 16. If you're under 19, please use Clarisa with a parent or guardian's permission.
- One account per person, for your own job search.
- The information you give about yourself should be true and yours.
4. Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at hello@clarisa.ca if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what's done with your account.
5. Your information stays yours
You own your resume, your profile and everything you add to Clarisa. You give us permission to store and use it only to provide Clarisa to you, as our privacy policy describes. That permission ends when you delete your account.
6. What Clarisa does, and doesn't, promise
- Match scores, reasons, skill gaps and suggestions are guidance, worked out from the information you and the job postings provide. They aren't a promise that you'll get an interview or a job, or that a job is right for you.
- Always check a job's details (pay, hours, requirements, location) with the employer before you apply or accept.
- Clarisa isn't an employer, a recruiter, an employment agency or an immigration consultant, and doesn't give legal, financial or immigration advice.
7. Job postings
Job postings come from other sources, such as the Government of Canada's Job Bank and Adzuna, and belong to the employers who posted them. We don't control them and can't promise they're accurate, still open or genuine, though we work to keep out ones that look fake. A real employer will never ask you to pay to apply or to be hired. If something seems wrong, please tell us.
8. Resumes Clarisa helps you make
Clarisa builds resumes only from what's on your profile, and any suggested wording is yours to accept, change or ignore. Please read your resume before you send it: you're responsible for what you send to employers, and it should be true.
9. Using Clarisa fairly
Please don't:
- put someone else's information in Clarisa without their permission, or pretend to be someone else;
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or get around Clarisa's security;
- copy job postings or other content from Clarisa in bulk, or use automated tools to do so;
- use Clarisa to send spam, or for anything illegal or harmful.
10. Cost
Clarisa is free during the beta. In the future, some extra features may cost money. If that happens, they'll be optional, we'll tell you clearly beforehand, and searching for jobs and building your profile will stay free.
11. Ending
You can delete your account at any time from Your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why when we can. We may also change or stop Clarisa, and if we stop it, we'll give you notice so you can download your resumes.
12. Our responsibility
We work hard to make Clarisa accurate and reliable, but it's provided "as is", and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as a missed job opportunity, that come from using Clarisa. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell you by email or on Clarisa before they take effect. If you keep using Clarisa after that, the new terms apply.
14. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there.
